Now the waiting begins...

So, I have had my phone interview. It went very well I feel, and as nervous as I was I do believe that I answered the questions well and came across as a positive, "can-do" person (like Patrick, my wonderful cousin, told me to).

The interview originally seemed to be the difficult part of this journey that I am making, boy was I ever wrong. After the interview I had to fax in and mail out my role checklist and my application. I had Trent fax it for me and I finally was able to send it in the mail today. Now the waiting begins...

Not only am I nervous that I somehow won't make it or that they will have already hired enough people when my application gets there, I now have to wait approximately 4 weeks to hear about whether I have been accepted or not! That's a whole month of me fretting, possibly over nothing. Oh well, I know that with the supportive friends that I have and the positive attitude that I will maintain this wait will not only go by fast but will also be a very enjoyable, educational moment for me. This process alone is a learning experience, which is quite amazing I might add.

Now, by reading this far into my blog (the two whole entries!) you might think that I am just super excited and ready to go. You might have a point, but still I have been very nervous and apprehensive as well. I have finally found my niche here at SUNY Oswego. I am a Resident Mentor in a first year program residence hall, i am very involved with Residence Life and Housing, am on a Leadership Development Committee, a Student Development and Transitions Committee, have been interviewing judicial and Res. Life professional candidates and have been having an overall great time being a member of my campus community. So what do I decide to do? Apply for an eight-month internship in Florida (which if you didn't know is a VERY long way from Oswego, NY).

Oh well, it's all part of the learning and maturing process right? I hope so, because even if it might not seem like a risk to others, just applying for this wonderful opportunity is a GIANT risk for me. I'm excited though, and I cannot wait for four weeks to go by so I will find out the results.

Stay with me, because I will keep this posted with anything related to this internship! have a great day!

my dearest Jessie,

during this 4 week period while you patiently wait to find what the future has in store for you i want you to remember this: i will be here for you no matter what the outcome, Disney or not, you are a wonderful, amazing and talented person. Besides, they say Disney world is where all your dreams come true, for me my dreams came true in Oswego because i met some of the best friends of my life. Who knows, perhaps Oswego will become your Disney World. Love and miss you! I will be praying for you to get into the program!

-Patty

p.s. YOU'RE GONNA GET IT!
